Jake was the first puppy I raisedfor the Guide Dog Foundation, he arrived at 12 weeks old, and a furry bundle of sleepiness. :) We fell in love with him and were looking forward to enjoying the next year with him. Unfortunately, that wasn't meant to be, as he let us know early on, that he didn't want to be a working dog. He was adopted in 2006 and is living the good life now. In September of 2013 he passed away unexpectedly. He will forever be missed.

Rei arrived about a month after Jake moved one, she was a handful even at 7-weeks-old, and busted every myth we'd ever believed about labs! We had many great adventures together, and are very excited to see the progress she is making as a guide dog. Rei was retired in March of 2013 after she was diagnosed with IBD. Rei is now living life as a pet and loving it! :)

Midnight arrived on the same day Rei left for her formal training; she was my angel puppy even from day one. We had a great year together and helped me through an extremely difficult point in my life. She went back to the school and was placed in the Breeding program. Midnight had three litters of puppies, two of which I have raised, but neither was placed as a guide dog puppy. Midnight has since retired and now is living out her last days as a pet with my family.

Pompei was my surprise puppy, arrived just days after I contacted GDF and told them I was ready to raise again. I'd taken a "break" for a year and worked with a service dog school training dogs for them. Once I realized I was going to move I knew I had to go back to GDF and raise for them again.

Arrival Story: Rob is the fifth guide dog puppy I have raised for the Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind. We went and picked him up from our RA in SC and drove him home from there. Rob was a very energetic puppy, and I soon realized that perhaps our house, wasn't the best place for him. He was transferred to a home in New York and finished his time as a P.I.T there.
He then completed three months of formal training with GDF before being career changed and placed with another school to train as a service dog.

Arrival Story: Trump arrived at my house as a transfer puppy in September, after I gave up his brother Rob to a new family. Trump quickly let us know, that he was not into the whole "Working dog" life and was consequently career changed soon after that. He has been placed with a family as a pet.
